UK Family Visa

Your Family, Together Here

We prepare UK family visas for partners, children and parents, proving your relationship, income and accommodation clearly, so your family can live together in the United Kingdom.

What Is the UK Family Visa?

Parents and children walking together, a family reunited in the UK

Families, Together Permanently

The UK Family visa sits under Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules. It lets a husband, wife, civil partner or long-term partner, a child, or a parent join a family member who is a British citizen, settled in the UK, or holds refugee or humanitarian protection status.

Approval turns on proving the family relationship, the sponsor’s finances and suitable housing, not on qualifications. That is where most family applications go wrong, and where our team makes the difference.

  • Routes for partners, children and parents
  • £29,000 minimum income for partners, or savings instead
  • Full right to work or study from day one
  • Settlement (ILR) possible after 5 years

What You Need

Every UK Family visa requirement, with exactly how our team supports you on each one.

Genuine Relationship

Partners must show a real, ongoing relationship: married, civil partners, or living together for 2+ years. Children and parents must prove the family link with birth, adoption or custody records.

Our SupportWe build a clear evidence file for each family member: relationship history, birth and custody papers, and proof of contact.

Financial Requirement (£29,000)

For partners the sponsor must earn £29,000 a year, or make up the gap with savings. For parents and adult relatives the sponsor must show they can support them without public funds.

Our SupportWe check the strongest income category for your family and calculate any savings top-up before you apply.

English Language (A1)

Partners and parents need English at CEFR level A1 for the first application, rising at later stages. Children under 18 do not need an English test.

Our SupportWe confirm the fastest route to A1 for each adult: test, degree exemption, or nationality exemption.

Accommodation

Suitable UK housing for the whole family, without overcrowding, that you can live in without relying on public funds.

Our SupportWe prepare accommodation evidence, including landlord letters and space reports, sized for every family member.

Sponsor's Immigration Status

Your family member in the UK must be British, settled in the UK, or hold refugee or humanitarian protection status.

Our SupportWe verify the sponsor’s status meets the rules before you spend anything on the application.

Documentary Evidence

Every claim about relationship, income or housing needs the exact evidence format the Immigration Rules demand, for each applicant.

Our SupportWe assemble and cross-check one complete bundle for the family, so nothing triggers an avoidable refusal.

Before You Ask

Your Questions, Answered

Couple preparing their UK partner visa application
What counts as a "genuine and subsisting" relationship?

The Home Office wants to see an ongoing, committed relationship intended to be permanent — not just a marriage certificate. Evidence typically includes shared finances, cohabitation records, communication history, and visits, especially if you've spent time apart due to visa restrictions.

Do I need to earn £29,000 myself, or can we combine income?

The sponsor's income is what counts, though if the applicant is already in the UK lawfully with permission to work, their income can be added. The £29,000 figure applies regardless of whether children are included in the application.

Can savings replace the income requirement entirely?

Yes. If income falls short, savings above £16,000 can be converted at a set multiple to cover the gap, or sufficient savings alone can meet the full requirement. We calculate the exact figure your case needs.

What English level do I need, and does it change later?

You need CEFR level A1 for your first application, A2 for your extension after roughly 2.5 years, and B1 for settlement. Passing at a higher level early can let you reuse the same certificate at later stages.

What happens if we don't meet the financial requirement?

You may still have options — for example, if refusal would breach your right to family life under human rights law, or if a qualifying child would be seriously affected. These routes are more complex and are assessed case by case.
