Before You Ask
Yes — a full sitting with a senior counsellor, in person in Lahore or over a call. You leave with a written assessment of your options whether or not you engage us.
Not always. A growing number of programmes, especially at graduate level, are taught fully in English. Where Japanese is required, we map out a JLPT pathway through a recognised language school first.
The COE is issued by Japanese immigration through your school before you can apply for a visa. It's the single most important document in the process, and delays here are the most common cause of a missed intake.
National universities charge a standard annual tuition of roughly ¥535,800 plus a one-time admission fee; private universities run higher. Living costs are around ¥100,000–150,000 a month in Tokyo and noticeably less in Fukuoka or Sapporo. Tuition waivers of 50–100% are common for strong international students.
Student visa holders can apply for permission to engage in activities outside their status, generally capped at 28 hours a week during term. We explain the current limit and the application step at the eligibility stage rather than promising hours.
